Private midwifery care plans

5 star review of independent private midwife homebirth care in Falmouth.

Your crafted care package from early pregnancy. This includes:

PREGNANCY CARE

Unhurried appointments with me, in the comfort of your own home

You've got time to ask the questions you're actually worried about – the ones that feel "stupid" or "too much"  without someone checking the clock or making you feel like you're holding up the queue. No rushing. No waiting rooms. No walking out confused about why they're suddenly recommending an induction when you thought everything was fine.

Holistic treatments and advice throughout your pregnancy

You're not acting as your own care coordinator, trying to figure out if you can book reflexology in the same week as acupuncture. I blend my expertise across multiple complementary therapies so your treatments are safe, effective, and actually address what's going on beneath the surface.

Ongoing liaison with NHS services (including attendance at consultant appointments if you want my support) to ensure that your care is seamless, safe and supportive.

You don't have to walk into that appointment alone, bracing for a fight where your body becomes the battleground. We'll prep beforehand, and I'll be by your side – so you walk out feeling confident in your choices instead of second-guessing yourself for the next three weeks.

LABOUR AND BIRTH CARE

A direct line to me on call – no guessing, no waiting.

You text. I respond. I tell you what to do. You're not lying in the bath at 2am wondering if you should call someone or if it's "too early."

Dedicated 1:1 care from me – no matter where you birth.

No shift changes. No strangers walking in halfway through. You don't have to remind someone new of your birth plan or advocate for yourself at 8cm when you're too deep in it to think straight.

Research shows that knowing your midwife is the most effective way to have the birth you've been dreaming about – the one where you come out feeling like the incredible, strong woman you've always been.

Gas and air, TENS, aromatherapy, and all the safety equipment you need.

You don’t have to secretly worry that you are reckless for choosing to give birth to your baby at home. My colleague and I bring the birth centre to your door – two midwives with specialist training in physiological birth, 20+ years combined experience, and all the NHS-recommended medications and equipment.

POSTNATAL CARE

Nurturing care in your own home for at least four weeks -  no screaming car rides, no cold plastic seats while you're breathing through after pains.

Your transition as a new family is gently held. If your boobs start to feel sore or you're worried about nappy rash, you don't spiral – I'm sat with you on your bed, guiding you until you're feeling confident again.

Enhanced clinical observation and full newborn screening - daily at first, then gently stretching out over the weeks.

NIPE examination, newborn blood spot screening, regular weighing and observations. Nothing gets missed. Those anxious niggles stay niggles and I’m by your side through it all.

Experienced, patient feeding support - not a cursory glance at the latch.

We've sat together for the whole 20 minutes your baby's been feeding. I've watched how their function has changed since birth. We can discuss your options and get the right support in place – whether that's tongue tie referrals, lactation consultant support, or just reassurance that it's working exactly as it should.

“I’m not sure how to express our gratitude for your holding over the past months. I’m sure it will stay with me for the rest of my days: the power of your presence to remind me of my strength, resilience and love”. - H&J 2025

RADIANT MOTHERHOOD EXPERIENCE

This is for the woman who knows that "getting through it" isn't enough. You want to thrive. You want to feel held, supported, and witnessed from the moment you book your care until you're six months postpartum and realising you've actually got this.

This isn't just about hiring a midwife. It's about building a team who know you, back you, and show up for you at every stage.

Everything in the Empowered Pregnancy Journey

PLUS:

Antenatal group course – build your village before you need it.

A community of like-minded local families on the same path as you. No performing. No pretending. Just real conversations about the stuff that actually matters. You're not walking into motherhood alone – you're walking in with your people.

Private clinical hypnosis sessions – bespoke to your unique wishes and dreams.

Generic hypnobirthing courses with visualisations about "opening like a flower" give you the ick. This is rooted in what YOU actually need – the most effective way to gain control over your nervous system so you can keep your cool when labour gets intense.

Gentle trauma release sessions for you and your birth partner – if you feel this would be beneficial.

That last birth where your plan was totally disregarded. The painful smear test. The time you were hospitalised abroad and no one spoke your language. These experiences live in your nervous system and can impact your ability to drop into the liminal space of birth. Let's deal with them before they hijack your labour.

Full body massage in your third trimester – to support your descent into the "zwischen-time" as you await your baby's arrival.

Not a luxury. A necessity. Your body needs to slow down, tune in, and prepare for what's coming.

Experienced doula support at your birth – if you want an extra set of hands on your team.

Sometimes you need someone whose only job is to hold the space while I focus on clinical care. An experienced doula will be there to remind you you're doing it when every cell in your body wants to quit.

Hands-on postnatal doula support – practical help around the home, with other children, nourishing food, and space for emotional reflection.

You're not trying to figure out how to make toast while holding a screaming baby. Someone's there to hold the baby while you shower, to feed you, to help you rest and recover. So you can actually bond with your baby instead of resenting them for existing.

Ongoing feeding support from an on-call lactation consultant – until weaning.

Not just the first two weeks. All of it. Planning for returning to work. Bottle refusal. Weaning. When something's not right, you've got someone to call who'll actually help – so feeding doesn't become the thing that breaks you.

A ready-made postnatal community. Choose from baby massage, a specialist postnatal exercise group, or Cornwall's friendliest doula-led baby group.

You get out of the house. You meet other women who are also covered in sick and questioning all their life choices. You realise you're not failing… you're just in it. And so is everyone else.

ANCHORED BIRTH SUPPORT PACKAGE

Please note: This package can only be booked from 34 weeks. If you're approaching late pregnancy, get in touch ASAP – I care for a micro-caseload to ensure everyone gets quality care and full attention, so availability is limited.

This is for you if you’ve found me later in pregnancy – maybe things have shifted, maybe you've just discovered independent midwifery exists, or maybe the care you're getting isn't what you thought it would be.

You've realised you don't want to "go with the flow of the system." You want someone who knows you, backs you, and shows up when it matters.

This package gives you the anchors you need – personalised birth support without the full investment.

PREGNANCY CARE

At least three home visits with me during which we'll spend time together diving deep into what you value and planning your baby's arrival.

We're not just "refining your birth plan." We're preparing you. Mentally, emotionally, practically. You'll know exactly what to expect, what to ask for, and how to hold the line if someone tries to push you into something that doesn't feel right.

Support if you go past your due date – including complementary therapies to encourage natural labour.

The last thing you need is a consultant pressuring you into an induction while you're trying to hold your nerve. I'll be there helping you navigate the conversations so you can enjoy the last stage of pregnancy with gentle nurturing appointments – not pressure and protocol.

Communication with NHS services to ensure coordinated care.

LABOUR AND BIRTH CARE

A direct line to me on call..

It feels so reassuring to send me a photo asking "is this my show?" or text "had a few cramps this afternoon, headed to bed early in case it kicks off tonight"  instead of making an awkward call trying to justify that you really are in labour because the hypnobirthing is working so well you're not screaming down the phone.

Dedicated 1:1 care from me – no matter where you birth.

I'll be available to come to your home throughout your labour, trusting in your instinctive birthing journey and guiding you to optimise your chances of the natural birth you're dreaming of. No shift changes. No strangers.

Gas and air, TENS, aromatherapy, and all the safety equipment you need. We bring everything you need.

POSTNATAL CARE

Two weeks of postnatal care – up to five visits in your own home.

I'll support your recovery from birth and your entry into motherhood as a strong, whole, confident lioness mother.

Why Continuity Matters

Having the same known and trusted midwife throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period is the most evidence-based way to improve outcomes for mothers and babies.

Continuity of midwifery care is linked to fewer interventions, lower rates of preterm birth, and higher satisfaction and confidence in birth experiences. But beyond the research, it’s about something deeply human — being truly known, heard, and supported by someone who understands you and your story.

When your midwife has walked with you through pregnancy, she knows your hopes, your history, and your rhythm. That shared trust makes all the difference when birth begins — helping you feel safer, more grounded, and more at ease in your body and choices.

Bespoke packages to suit your needs.
